Religious But No Change in Heart

2 Tim 3:1 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.  NIV

Notice lovers of themselves and lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, describes so many selfish and carnally ruled people today.  When people are carnally ruled by their flesh you can read all the other attributes and characteristics that will eventually surface.  What is in peoples’ hearts will come to the surface and be exposed.

The worst and most treacherous state is when all these sinful and carnal attitudes dominate and prevail in a person’s life and they try to cover it all up under a disguise of having some religiousness, but they deny the true power.  God’s Word is pretty clear “HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THESE TOXIC PEOPLE”.  Unless they repent!

The true power is the Holy Spirit, but when people don’t repent of their sins, but continue to live in their flesh controlled desires, eventually they will have a reprobate mind and there will not be conviction of their sins.  Many think their religious activities will be a covering or that God’s grace will forgive and overlook un-repented sins, sorry they MORE deceived than heathens

We have to allow the Holy Spirit to work in our lives, by listening to His convicting work of any sins in our lives and repenting immediately.  If not, there is no fellowship with the light and darkness.  We have to maintain our relationship with God by yielding to the Holy Spirit at all times!
