Being Thankful in a World of Grumblers and Complainers

If we are honest with ourselves, we have to admit that we have complained or grumbled more at times then we have been thankful.  We have let circumstances or people around us influence more then we should have allowed them to, instead of looking for things to be thankful for at all times!  Murmuring and grumbling kept an entire generation of Israel out of their abundance and promises, after being miraculously delivered from slavery in Egypt for over 400 years.

Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything , by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

A key is to not get anxious about anything BUT IN EVERYTHING GIVE THANKS and offer your prayers to God.   You might ask how is it possible to give thanks in every situation or circumstance, when some pretty rotten stuff happens.  If you know God is for you and not against you, and that no weapon formed against you will prosper, these precious promises will help you to look for things to be thankful for and to believe for a turn around and changes for the better.

Also another precious promise when we don’t understand all the details of why we are going through something is:

Rom 8:28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. NLT

Rom 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. NIV

Notice these 2 translations state that God causes EVERYTHING or that IN ALL THINGS God works together FOR OUR GOOD for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.  The greater good is being transformed into the image and likeness of Jesus!

Let’s keep this simple if you really love God with all your heart, mind, and soul and are willing to do what He wants for your life THEN EVENTUALLY EVERYTHING WILL WORK OUT FOR YOUR GOOD.  Don’t get ANXIOUS if it does not happen in your timetable because God is not bound by time or space, but His timing is always perfect!
